Now glory be to God!
By his mighty power at work within us,
he is able to accomplish infinitely more
than we would ever dare to ask or hope.

A Family Tradition

We have been focusing on keeping Christ the center of our Christmas celebration for the last few years.  We have simplified and cut back in many areas.  This year, we are doing this take on an Advent calendar.  It is a paper chain and includes Bible passages to read for each day.  I hope to post more about how it goes as we do it.    I got the idea and printables here.

A gold star!

All set and ready to go!

A close up of the paper chain.  The Bible passages are on the inside.  I didn't have any red paper other than construction paper and it wouldn't fit through the printer.  Luckily I had some scrapbook paper that was plain on one side that worked perfectly.

We plan to celebrate Jesus' birthday with a cake or cupcakes baked together on Christmas day as well as with the requisite singing of the Happy Birthday song.

What sort of traditions does your family have?
How do you keep the focus on Christ?

I love homeschooling.
