Now glory be to God!
By his mighty power at work within us,
he is able to accomplish infinitely more
than we would ever dare to ask or hope.

Nature aka Science Class

We recently had an opportunity to do a nature hike at the Hassaympa River Preserve.
Here are some pictures of our discoveries.
We did see quite a variety of birds and a gopher.
The other animals were hiding,
except those in the hands on exhibits at the visitor's center.

Christmas javelina.
We learned that javelina don't have good eyesight, but they have an excellent sense of smell.  We also learned about their sleeping habits (which sound very similar to our pugs sleeping habits) and what they like to eat.

Smile!  LOL, this is the smile I get when he's not sure about what's going on, but I tell him to smile.

Most of this river flows underground, but here, it's not, year round.  Creates a different environment and habitat for lots of wildlife.

One of the volunteers (bird-banding) graciously takes time to talk to the kids about different kinds of birds and to answer their questions.

More discussion about different birds.

They are all looking at a pocket gopher who was bravely sticking his head out of a hole.

Our group of explorers.
