Power Check

18 My prayer is that light will flood your hearts and that you will understand the hope that was given to you when God chose you. Then you will discover the glorious blessings that will be yours together with all of God’s people. 19 I want you to know about the great and mighty power that God has for us followers. It is the same wonderful power he used 20  when he raised Christ from death and let him sit at his right side in heaven.  Ephesians 1:18-20 CEV

Re-read that and let it sink in for a moment.  

Let the meaning wash over you.

God chose you. (and me.)

He gave you (and me) HOPE.  

With the same great and mighty power, the same wonderful power He used when he raised Christ from death.  

The power that God used to raise Christ from the dead is available to you.  (and to me.)

To all followers.  (that includes you AND me.)

To all believers.  (you and me.)

To you.  

And to me.


Are you living like you have that power?  

In the NIV, Romans 8:31 reads What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

The Bible tells us that someone is most definitely against us, but we have the same power that God used to raise Christ from death available to us. Are you aware of that?  

Are you believing that?  

Are you living as if you had that power?  

I have had shining, stellar, crystal clear moments where I can answer "Absolutely!"  

I also have had (far more) less than stellar moments where I would have to answer "no."  Those times when lies, doubt, grief, fear, low self esteem all got the best of me. 


The NCV says it like this:  31 So what should we say about this? If God is for us, no one can defeat us.


No one can defeat us.  NO one can defeat us.  NO ONE can defeat us.  NO ONE CAN DEFEAT US! 


Let's start believing and acting like it!
